4The Woombie is one of very few "necessary" pieces of baby gear  Aug 12, 2010
By E. B. Glass
I was initially a Woombie doubter. We had used and liked another brand of swaddler (one that employs velcro to fix the swaddle), and we thought, "Why reinvent the wheel?" I worried that the baby would be able to move her arms around inside the Woombie and wake herself up. Plus, I didn't see the point in paying more for the Woombie when there were cheaper alternatives.

When our second daughter was born, someone gave us a Woombie as a gift. We didn't use it very much at first, but when the baby started outgrowing the other brand (even the large size, and she's not even a big baby!) at 3 months, we thought the Woombie might be worth a shot. I always felt that my first daughter would have slept better through infanthood if we had been able to swaddle her longer.

To my surprise, the Woombie turned out to be awesome! It's really comfortable and my daughter has slept really well in it. It's so much easier to use than other brands, and I love the lightweight knit fabric. At 5 months we finally switched to the larger size and were excited to see that the design has changed slightly. There are now two zippers, which allow us to just unzip the bottom for diaper changes. This was a great addition.

Hint: we did notice some stretching and straining in our newborn Woombie. It developed a hole near the zipper and, at the time we retired it, was starting to seem weak around the seams. We probably should have sized up a little bit sooner than we did. Our girl still met the weight requirements for the newborn one but she is longer than most babies.

I would recommend this product to other parents. Even though it costs more than other swaddlers, there is added value that makes it worth the money.

4Great while it lasted...  Oct 01, 2010
By S. West "Foster mom"
I loved the first Woombie I bought so much that I bought a a second 'Lil Houdini model plus a winter version for the upcoming winter. He was busting out of the SwaddleMe every single night (grew too long for it by 4 months). Unfortunately, at 5 month exactly he learned to roll over onto his tummy from his back fully enclosed in his Woombie. With his arms encased he is totally helpless and cannot roll back. Thought the first time was a fluke but a fews days later started making a habit of it. Had to abandon the Woombie cold turkey. He is now a belly sleeper and there's nothing I can do to change it. Sad to see it go but I'd highly recommend it to anyone whose baby ISN'T yet rolling over.

5Miracle product  Sep 13, 2010

this is the absolute best product ever for a new borne up to 2.5 months so far. We would not be getting any sleep without it.

1Not so great for my little one  Nov 02, 2012
By KBrown
My little 6 lbs 6 onces newborn didn't seem to adjust well to the neckline on this thing. She kept wriggling her head in discomfort. I really wanted to like this thing for the price. I'm giving it away. Perhaps it will work well for someone else.

2Not like a swaddle  Jan 14, 2013
By Luci
I thought this was a great idea - a swaddle that zips, but my child hates the woombie. She LOVES to be swaddled, but will not even stand this for a few minutes.
